muesli

Lovely weather here. I took a break from the accounts and took a walk along the Severn with John, who hates this picture of him, but I like as it's lively and I like the light.

This was an exercise in writing a triolet in between putting the coffee machine on the stove and it making bubbling noises.

I munch a bowl of muesli
Though there's bacon on the shelf.
Last evening passed quite boozily.
I munch a bowl of muesli.
Today I shall eat choosily
And worry 'bout my health;
I munch a bowl of muesli
Though there's bacon on the shelf.

(as Suzzy pointed out, the shelf is an odd place to keep the bacon. I replied that it's hard to find a good rhyme for 'fridge', and the fridge has got shelves in it anyway)

  1. I like the picture of John though he looks as if the sun is in his eyes. When Rob was in his photography period I suffered a lot from the same.

    Isn't the bacon on the shelf what poetic licence is all about?

    I hope that you are over your hangover by now.

  2. Dru, tell John he's nuts! That is a beautiful picture, and he looks terrific in it! I love it! It looks like a very fine acrylic painting! You are quite a photographer!

  3. This is the second time I've taken photos of John, Anji; both times it was the very lasy picture that was the best. I think that it's best just to keep on snapping until the subject ignores the camera and becomes more natural...

    Thanks, Melissa! John has taken these comments on board and is more reconciled to the picture now. I kind of know where he's coming from; I have issues more with my voice than with my appearance (though I've got them too). But sometimes you've just got to get on with what you've got... I tell myself....

  6. The best was with you, Dru. All I can say is, Wow! What light, what color, what beauty in complexity! Surely enough to overcome John's modesty.
