The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta's onder way, and I kept an eye out for them flying by this morning. Take-off was delayed a little because it was a bit breezy and cloudy; but eventually a great flotilla skittered past the city. Here's a big one ascending into the low cloud....
An amazing photo Dru :-)
ReplyDeleteBaloons... I love them... and your picture is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteMy brain saw this as another brilliant dry drawing!
ReplyDeletePerfect moment!
Thanks, folks! It can get a bit distracting around here during the balloon fiesta; last night was bright and sunny, and they all flew right past the house. Great fun!
ReplyDeleteI watched them all from Dundry Hill a few years ago. Impressive.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLike Caroline, when I first saw this as a little icon in my reader I thought it would be another piece of your artwork.
A chance for a card in your Etsy store targeting the balooning community? :)
Now that "up up and away in a beautiful balloon" tune is stuck in my head!
ReplyDeleteit would be fun to do with watercolour, Jenny. An interesting exercise, anyway...
ReplyDeleteI reckon that, when the wind's going the right way, up on Kingsdown would be a good place to watch them over the city, Jo. Unfortunately, last time it was like that I couldn't find a decent vantage point... Dundry seems much more sensible.
I think of them as a species of whale, Caroline; they make the same snorting noise.
Lovely picture!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photo.
ReplyDeletethank you! I'm v lucky with the view from my roof
