phare away places

... I've been out and about over the last few days, showing some visitors the sights of the Wess Vinglun.

Like this lighthouse thingy near Portishead.

And I introduced them to Pie Minister...

...and the Cotham Porter Stores (one of Bristol's last remaining cider pubs). And lots of other places too. It's good having visitors, so you can get to go places you don't usually go.

And now it's back to the drawing board.

  1. Lol, Like 'le jeu de mot'. Are you sure you're not working for Bristol Chamber of Commerce or somthing. It is nice showing visitors around, you see familiar places with fresh eyes.

Pie Minister has been mentioned before, is it a pie restaurant?

  2. Portishead looks rather more attractive than I remember it ;-) (Of course they have a new album out too, after a zillion years. Tried to listen to it, but ears bled too much!)

  3. Thanks, Anji. Yes, Pie Minister is a pie and mash place. And gravy and mushy peas. Keeps things simple, and very good too.
We were listening to Porsed while we drove through the town, Jo. Sonja loves their music, and hadn't realised until they got here that there was an actual place named after them. AS it were.
