I wonder how many other people are unaware of shared use areas? -in theory, I can't see any reason why bikes and pedestrians couldn't amicably share some pavements, but such an arrangement would depend on goodwill and courtesy. I don't add common sense, because that's a surprisingly uncommon commodity...Dru Marlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03697874363783821382noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2448752251053894818.post-38754714997048235452009-12-19T05:03:35.000+00:002009-12-19T05:03:35.000+00:00Thing about Bristol anyway - half the pavements in...Thing about Bristol anyway - half the pavements in the centre it seems like you're supposed to cycle on. They have those little cycle signs painted on. I realise this is not a very logical or consistent argument but if it is so heinous for cyclists to be on the pavement, why are there all these sections where it says pedestrians and cyclists should share the space? (And I don't mean just places where there is a dividing line. Sometimes there isn't even a line. It just says both are allowed on).Benhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12864599573057163872noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2448752251053894818.post-7827960419654705822009-12-18T20:43:46.609+00:002009-12-18T20:43:46.609+00:00This is a BEP article.
